Hi,

My brother keeps trying to convince me to get a myspace account. So my question is to anyone who uses jaws and has a myspace page. How does myspace work with jaws?
Thanks,

Jen

it depends. if someone has music on their page, it's much slower, and sometimes doesn't read like it's supposed to, but if not, it's usually fine.

Thanks. I also wanted to know how it is using jaws while setting up and maintaining a myspace profile?

It works fine. Set your account settings so music doesn't play automatically play and you should have no problems.

It's ok. If someone has a profile with a slide show or whatever in it jaws will be very sluggish but as far as setting it up goes jaws reads all of the fields and so on. Be ware of the sign up security code though.

I'm not a fan of Myspace, but it has nothing to do with the way it works with Jaws. It's just fine. Only problems you might have are the music (and Jared solved that one for you with the suggestion of setting it so that music doesn't automatically play), and the security code (but that's everywhere now, so it's not just a Myspace thing).

i notice a lot of flash and what look to be empty frames but you can get past those and some links have pics or labels so just hit g till you hear the one you want. I am getting more and more used to it.

I had no idea you could have you account set so the music in peoples' profiles didn't automaticly play. Where would I go to fix that?
I've had times where the music in some of these profiles is so loud that I can't hear Jaws read half the time, so I just didn't view most peoples' profiles on there.

Actually, I'd like to know that too. Is it a setting specific to myspace? Or are you talking about turning off the sound on internet explorer?

If I remember correctly, it's under account settings.
Click on "Music prefferences" and there are a few check boxes there.
HTH.

Beaware, you have to have sighted assistance to sign up.

There is a coe that you have to enter when signing up. How ever Jaws does not read teh code so you wil need signted assitance when signing up. Other than that if you don't mind a lot of links then Myspace is ok.

Myspace is pretty good with jaws, for me. Sometimes it shuts down, but that's just my computer I think...but other than that I think it's great
